Why are Boomers so vehemently opposed to student loan forgiveness?

Boomers lived, in a literal sense, in a different world. You could buy a house on minimum wage. A family of four could easily support itself on the salary of a single skilled or semi-skilled tradesman. College cost far less than half what it does now, and top-tier universities less than 20% what they do now, in adjusted dollars.

Student loans were cheap. And many people didn’t need college; you could get a job straight out of high school that paid a decent wage, and offered entry into a trade that didn’t require college.

Most of the other answers to this question are jealous dogs.

Why does my narcissistic ex told me that he f*cked and sleep with other woman and then at the end says that it also happened because of me?

These degenerate freeloaders took $129.000,000,000,000 from millennials and have the sheer unmitigated gall to whine about student loans.

Look at the answers to this question. I mean, look at them. The entitled wankers saying “Why should my tax money pay for entitled little deadbeats,” every single one of these fuckers never says a peep about the government bailing out bankers or forgiving PPP loans.

Funny how the same boomers who made the equivalent of $12.50/hour at minimum wage jobs now scream and shake their canes at the sky over the prospect of making it $7.75 today.

What is your opinion on The Beatles' impact on modern popular music? Are there any other bands with similar impacts on their genre(s)? Why them and not others?

So yeah. They have an emotional reaction to some kid today not paying back student loans because “I had to pay back my student loan, it’s so unfair, woof woof woof!” but they’re okay with rich people getting tax payer handouts because something something job creators something something Ronald Reagan something something I don’t know jack about economics, and because they look back on how they saved and worked and paid everything back by the sweat of their brow but they lack the mental faculties to keep up with how the world has changed and how many breaks they got.

Boomers and GenXers don’t understand how the world has changed.

There you go.

What are the signs of covert narcissistic abuse that most people miss?

And boomers, who sob and weep and wail like babies without a lollipop over “government income redistribution,” are beneficiaries of the greatest wealth transfer in American history.

These fuckers are so dumb, so economically illiterate, they actually think…my god, I can barely believe I’m typing this. They actually think trickle-down economics works.

Basically, if you take a dog, and you teach it to perform tricks in exchange for a treat, and then you bring in a second dog and give the second dog the same treats without making it do tricks, the first dog will get pissed. It may even refuse to do the tricks any more.

What makes you think that former U.S. President Donald Trump's legal team has already been laying the groundwork for an appeal in the hush money trial?

God, it beggars belief, but here we are. Dumbasses gotta dumbass.

Which is actually fine, except…

They have huge feels about a college grad getting $100,000 in student loans forgiven, but they’re a-okay with a rich banker getting $8,000,000 PPP loans forgiven.

What are some effective ways to cope with loss and grief?

In the 1960s, real minimum wage was roughly double what it is now.

“It’s not faaaaair! I had to pay back myyyyyy loans, and you should tooooooo! Get a job and pay your owwwwwn loans, you freeloading moochers! Why should I have to pay back your loans? If you were smart like me and took useful classes, instead of being a dumb stupid moron stupid dum-dum-head, you wouldn’t be here! It’s not faaaaair! Waaaah! Waaaah! My tax money! Stupid gender-studies dummy! I paid my own way! Waaaaaah!”

Because, you see, that’s like, totally different.

Two reasons: emotionally-driven Jealous Dog Syndrome, and a complete failure to understand how the world is changed.

Jealous Dog Syndrome

Wanna see something horrifying? This graph says so much:

How do you handle your mother-in-law after you heard her talking badly about you in the next room?

90% of boomers made more than their parents. Less than 50% of the current university-age generation will.

There’s a formal name for this, but I forget what it is because in my cognitive science class in university we always just called it “jealous dog syndrome.” So, so, so very much of human behavior is driven by jealous dog syndrome.

Basically, the Boomers took and took and took and took and took, without ever realizing how easy they had it, and now they go into full-throated meltdowns over “greedy coddled millennials” wanting half what they had.
